Media Preview is a free and handy application which allows you to view thumbnails previews of almost all (and unsupported) video formats in Windows Explorer. By default, Windows only supports the media file formats developed by Microsoft or for QuickTime, and ignores other popular media formats. Third-party media players fill the gap in terms of playback but usually let the preview functionality on the side-road. Media Preview is here to bring to your computer the full preview capabilities for all of your media files. This small tool works on all Windows versions including Windows 8 (32 bit and 64 bit). Nhờ phần mềm miễn phí Media Preview, Windows Explorer có thể hiển thị thumbnails của mọi định dạng video.

Tuy hiển thị được thumbnails của hầu hết định dạng ảnh song Windows Explorer chỉ hỗ trợ một vài dạng thức video. Với Media Preview thì mọi chuyện sẽ thay đổi.

Bạn tải về phiên bản Media Preview 1.2.2.169 cho Windows XP/Vista/7 32-bit (dung lượng 5.57MB) và 64-bit (5.66MB) theo link down bên dưới nhé. Tải xong, bạn chạy file .msi để cài đặt Media Preview bình thường.

Trên hộp thoại Media Preview Configure (gọi từ Start menu > All Programs) xuất hiện khi hoàn tất việc cài đặt, tại thẻ File Asscociation, bạn đánh dấu định dạng video muốn Windows Explorer hỗ trợ hiển thị thumbnails, hoặc bấm Select All để chọn hết. Còn nút Select None để bỏ chọn tất cả định dạng video vừa đánh dấu.

Nếu trong danh sách này không có định dạng video mình cần, bạn tự gõ vào hộp User Defined Formats và bấm nút Add, tiếp đó bấm nút Browse và tìm chọn file video có định dạng đó.

Sau cùng, bạn bấm nút Apply để áp dụng và bấm tiếp OK khi thấy hộp thoại như dưới.

Chuyển sang thẻ Settings, bạn sẽ thấy Media Preview mặc định ưu tiên cho chất lượng hiển thị thumbnails của video (con chạy nằm về phía Quality). Nếu muốn ưu tiên cho tốc độ hiển thị thumbnails của video, bạn kéo con chạy về phía Speed. Các tùy chọn nâng cao phía dưới sẽ xuất hiện khi bạn đánh dấu ô Custom, song để khỏi mất thời gian, tốt nhất bạn cứ giữ như mặc định.

Từ giờ, bạn có thể duyệt mọi file video trong thư mục dưới dạng thumnails y như lúc duyệt ảnh. Việc này rất tiện lợi khi bạn muốn tìm nhanh một file video trong rất nhiều file đặt tên lộn xộn mà không phải mất công lần lượt mở chúng.
